From the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday, 3 times African Champions have dropped 9 places to 70th position. The Nigerian team were 61st in the world in June with 559 points.
Super Eagles are now 17th in Africa with 514 points. On the other hand, Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying rivals Algeria remain the top team in Africa and 32nd in the world, while Cameroon are 7th in Africa and 53rd in the world.
The Eagles are however rated above World Cup foes Zambia, who are 23rd in Africa and 88th in the world. The biggest movers were Kenya who gained 43 places up to 86 globally and 22 in Africa.
