The long anticipated collaboration between Killer Mike and 2 Chainz is finally ours to behold. “Black Power. White Powder.” was first heard during the Netflix docuseries Rapture when Nas was breaking down certain levels of hip hop analysis, after which a segment aired of 2 Chainz dealing with his short-term disability. He spoke with Billboard about the habits formed out of being the subject of a documentary film: “The Rapture experience was dope. It was cool to see it go from concept to a show on Netflix telling my story my way. Always great to connect with my ATL fam Killer Mike on music, especially for the Rapture project.”

2 Chainz & Killer Mike Cover Racial Inequality On “Black Power. White Powder.”

“Black Power. White Powder.” isn’t hard to distinguish from other 5 tracks included in the Soundtrack. The single brings about a more politically engaged version of the always cunning 40 year old rapper, best known for his extravagant displays of wealth. His counterpart, Killer Mike has made a living out of “pledging allegiance to the grind.” Killer Mike’s public interjections have cost him a bit of fanfare in recent times, his views often overshadowed by the liberal majority.
